Creating custom content

With Buddy, a wide variety of custom educational content can be created.

Using the scenario editor, Buddy becomes a playful support to create exercises, display images and videos, energize a class, explain concepts, play behaviors, recite lessons, give advice, and build rituals, conditional scenarios, interactive stories, or quizzes, all designed online from a PC and sent remotely to the robot.

The Carte Blanche application also lets users create quizzes by customizing printed cards so Buddy can ask learners to show specific content on one or another card.

Smart use of ChatGPT

Buddy is equipped with ChatGPT and thus has access to virtually unlimited data that must be used wisely. Buddy can simplify complex concepts, summarize lessons, generate quizzes, embody historical figures and answer questions, tell anecdotes, recite lessons or poems, support reflection, suggest outlines, and help organize ideas, making it a powerful educational ally.

Learning programming with Buddy

Buddy is a programmable, interactive robot that enables multiple learning activities at all levels and can be used from kindergarten onward to open the digital world to children in an engaging way.

With a complete and scalable app suite, Buddy supports programming in Blockly and Python and training AI models, using all its features such as touch sensors, motion detection, person detection, obstacle detection, voice detection, wheel and head movement, and LED lighting, with apps available on the robot, tablet, and computer.

An SDK for research labs

Blue Frog Robotics offers Buddy with a complete software development kit SDK) providing APIs to control its features.

Developers, students, and robotics and AI enthusiasts gain access to vocal TTS/STT) and visual interactions, robot movements, emotional behaviors, and person and QR code detection, as well as raw sensor data, all within an Android environment that facilitates cloud API integration and opens the door to further innovation.

Buddy has two USB accessory ports on its shoulders, allowing easy attachment of custom modules, with examples of shoulder USB accessories showcased.

Buddy, avatar for homebound children

Buddy is a caring ally for children prevented from attending school due to illness, disability, or school phobia. Through telepresence, Buddy becomes these childrenʼs avatar, allowing them to continue their schooling and maintain social ties with classmates by remotely piloting the robot from a tablet or smartphone.

Thanks to the Ministry of National Education, hundreds of children have already benefited from this solution, and several associations also use it to help families keep a link with their sick child.
