ART & ROBOTICS with Elise’s Odyssey
Elisabeth Colombo is both an IT project manager within the Department of Economic and Management Information Systems (DSIEG) at DILA and an artist-author with her own company, L’Odyssée d’Elise. As a visual artist and IT project manager, she navigates effortlessly between two fascinating worlds, successfully combining her professional activity with her artistic passion. Her greatest pleasure lies in bringing art and creativity into her daily life, fueling her constant quest for expression and innovation. A computer and technology enthusiast since childhood, Elisabeth has always been fascinated by machines and robots improving daily life.
Moreover, her interest in robotics began early, when she first encountered a robot at the age of five. As a teenager, she admired icons of Japanese robotics culture such as Goldorak, symbol of adventure and innovation. In addition, she was drawn to the blend of robotics and poetry in The King and the Mockingbird. As she grew older, her fascination with robots took on a new dimension.
Furthermore, science fiction masterpieces like 2001: A Space Odyssey deeply inspired her imagination.
She was particularly affected by HAL, a robot with complex artificial intelligence. This fictional encounter strengthened her belief in machines going beyond utilitarian functions toward human-like consciousness. Finally, at the turn of the millennium, she experimented with early domestic robots such as Nabaztag, later known as Karotz.
An interaction between robot and artistic creation
In 2015, his involvement in the field of robotics took on a new dimension with his investment in our project, on the Indiegogo platform.
For me, the Buddy project represented far more than just technology. It embodied the dream of having a machine capable of feeling emotions and being truly useful to humans. I envisioned it as an assistant in daily activities, a communicative and empathetic companion. Beyond that, I was looking for a creative and innovative partner to enrich my artistic interactions, and Buddy proved to be the ideal solution.

Buddy breathes new life into her art project, creating a stimulating dialogue between art and technology.
